Jaco Pastorius

Jaco Pastorius isn’t just my favorite bass player, he’s my favorite musician, composer, and arranger. And because he was all three, that puts him in rare company.

Jaco died when I was 19 years old. I never got to see him perform live, which is one of my biggest regrets. But as the world’s biggest Jaco nerd (and vinyl nerd), I went on a multi-city quest to find every recording he was on. Mission accomplished.
